Lady Arendelle falls down the stairs and everyone thinks she tripped over a ball left behind by her beloved fox terrier Bob. Lady Arendelle dies, and all her property goes to her companion, Miss Lawson. Hercule Poirot receives a letter written before the old lady\'s death, and although it is too late to save her life, there is still time to find the killer. Poirot has to work with the most unusual witness in his entire practice, the dog Bob.
